Able to leap small dogs in a single bound...

Behold, my "back-to-school" sneakers! Can you see the gold glitter ribbon on the sides???

I wore them yesterday for the first time. I had to make coffee for 1,000+ people, so I knew I'd need special skills (running fast, jumping high). My new sparkly sneaks did not disappoint. And they emerged unscathed from the big, wet pile of coffee grounds I accidentally dumped on them. (For those of you who are new to the blog, here's a quick primer in the economics of my fashion world: Fun new sneakers? $40. Stain-resistance? Priceless.)

Brown. It's the new black. And white and pink and cerulean blue....

Are you treating yourself to new sneakers for fall? Keep in mind what you spill most when selecting colors. (Should I send this suggestion into Tim Gunn for his show, or do you think he already knows this?)

You know, I need new sneakers. To be specific about it, I need new red, non-athletic, ass-kickingly-beautiful sneakers. Because I have to replace the pair of ass-kickingly awesome red sneakers that I wanted so badly that I spent 14 months (literally) looking for. They had to be JUST the right shade of red. They had to fit well. They had to be in the $50 range. But, well, I have worn them to the ground more or less since I bought them over 2 1/2 years ago. The soles have worn too thin. O WOE IS MEE!!!!!

But sneakers. They rule. They are, like, the mothership of shoe shopping if you ask me.

THose are BEAUTIFUL! But if I had to make coffee for over a thousand people, I'd use my new sneakers for sneaking away. Quickly.

Love the new footwear! I also am in total agreement on your analysis regarding color choice and the colors to consider in spill regularity. Were I to design shoes of my own, they would not only mask my coffee spills, but come with an absorbant cloth attachment on one toe I could velcro on in the mornings to mop up my dribbles.

I wonder what sort of sneakers Gallagher buys to wear in concert?

Those sneaks are adorable! I'm trying to decide whether my navy and yellow Sauconys will live through another season or if I should upgrade!

I really hadn't thought of getting MOM new sneakers for back to school. But why shouldn't I? And I want to get some fun sneakers. Not boring old white. I'll have to let you know what I get. Thanks for the suggestion!

Although they're brown and not red, if you click your heels, will you be transported to Kansas? ;)

Sketchers... my fav. Especially the kind you don't have to tie laces on. And I have a pair of their "energy spiderweb" sandals (I didn't make up the name)... let me just say this: MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES. EVER. Even though sandal season is almost over, at which point I'm going to start crying, and then go out and buy me a pair of these! Adorable! Definitiely a good find.
