Holiday Logistics

Stacy has finished all of her Christmas shopping.

I, on the other hand, haven't figured out where to buy the one pie we've been asked to bring to Thanksgiving dinner. (We haven't been asked to contribute something home-cooked to these family meals since the Great Squash Debacle of 2004. WHO KNEW that if you put nutmeg on squash when it comes out of the oven and then drive it across town, that somewhere en route it turns newborn baby poop brown??? I could have used a warning from the kind folks at Recipes.com before I brought that bowl of tasty goodness to my brand new in-laws...)

Anyway, there's a chance I'm a little behind. Is it possible, do you think, to reschedule Christmas for sometime mid-February? Would that be so wrong???

I am eating out on Thursday, thank goodness.

I'm cool with rescheduling christmas. My parents will be in Africa with my sister anyway, so I'm missing out. February sounds lovely.

Ummm ... yeah. I'm like, Christmas? Really? I can barely wrap my head around the fact that Thanksgiving is this week :)

I'm a Christmas geek, you can extend the season however long you like.

I am up late cooking exciting things like mashed potatoes so that I'll only have to reheat tomorrow. So, yeah, please move Christmas to, at least, Feb. Or maybe we can do a combined Christmas-Easter this year? :)

I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet and I feel so behind. I might try to go out tomorrow, even though it's black Friday, and get Christmas underway! :-)

Also, it's almost noon on Thanksgiving and I still have a few things I need to cook. Looks like a wal-mart run is in order!

One magic website can fix all your shopping problems: bn.com.

Ok, I'm going to email you my chocolate chess pie recipie. Seriously, it's so easy that even That Dog could make it. It's rather fool proof. It's quick. It impresses people who think it's much harder to make than it is. You can use it at Christmas time to wow everyone then. OK?

I was cracking up that they only asked you go 'buy' a pie, rather than make one... hilarious

You screw up one meal, and then forever become the paper plates and pop people.

And since we do Thanksgiving breakfast at our house rather than a dinner, we are the official Panera bagel people. What do you think that says about us?

Maybe I should hire Stacy to do my Christmas shopping.
