Three things I learned this Thanksgiving Week:
1. The pies at Whole Foods go on half-price sale at 8pm the night before Thanksgiving. That's 8pm, folks. I've marked my calender for next year (it's the closest I thing I have to a holiday recipe).
2. Matrimony is a great book. I read it in four hours.
3. I have the same middle name as Alanis Morrissette. Future parents take note: the middle name Nadine may destine your daughter for a career entertaining the world with stories of her numerous dating failures. (Behold, my Jagged Little Pill.) I think the baby name books should note this, no?

That takes me back. I hadn't heard the name Nadine since grade-school.
The name Nadine doesn't make the popular name charts in the US, but it is used in parts of Canada, Australia, and Europe.
GREAT tip on Whole Foods and I'll be adding Matrimony to my to-read list. I'll probably get around to reading it next Thanksgiving and I'll plan to pair it with some half price pie.
people used to say i LOOKED like alanis morisette... yeah. having her middle name isn't so bad. :)
thanks for stopping by my blog. can i just say that your book that is coming out next year? - right up my alley. :)
Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
I think #1 definitely qualifies as a holiday recipe. That's powerful knowledge. I happen to be fond of you and Alanis, so perhaps having Nadine as a middle name guarantees awesomeness.
My husband discovered that if you go out shopping late on the Wed before Thanksgiving, some of the stores already have their prices marked down, so you get first dibs!
And I don't think I've ever read a non-picture book/junior chapter book in four hours. Bravo! Love the cover.
I'll be at Whole Foods next Thanksgivng Eve at 8pm sharp!
HA! I love the Nadine-Alanis connection!
half priced pies...does anything taste better?!
