7/7 Day Six: What's Life Without Surprises?

Today's book giveaway is a mystery (even though it's not). I'm keeping it a secret (but I promise it's not The Secret).

Here's what I can tell you: it's a second novel from a spectacular writer. It's a fictional account of some very cool things happening to a protagonist I think most of us will identify with in one way or another. The advanced copies received rave reviews, and there's a good chance we'll even see this story on the big screen.

The book won't be available in stores for months, but thanks to the general coolness of this fabulous author, you, my awesome blog readers, have a chance to win a copy NOW, which we'll send to you as soon as s/he gets author copies from the publisher.

Want to win? Leave a comment answering this question: Are you good at keeping secrets?

Oooh...I think I might know what book this is. Maybe -- or maybe I'm just hoping I'm right because I want this book early. As for keeping secrets, yes, I'm exceptionally good at keeping secrets -- so good that I could write some good essays or books based on secrets I know but I won't just in case someone figures out who I'm really talking about.

If I have to keep a secret, I can but I HATE it and feel like I'm going to burst.

I'm very good at keeping secrets unless it's about a present that I have purchased for someone. It torture me because I am so excited and then they end up giving in and letting me tell them what I got to put me out of my misery.

I'm pretty good at keeping secrets. But won't we all say that? ;-)

I have no idea what book this is, but it sounds fantastic. I think I'm good at keeping secrets. Sometimes its hard though, sometimes I just want to tell someone so I don't concentrate so much on not saying anything!

It depends on the secret :) Just kidding.

I'm intrigued. Also I have a guess, but I'm probably wrong.

About those questions I told you that I'd send you by Wednesday or Thursday or something like that, I'll e-mail them to you within the next couple hours. For real this time.

I know. I suck.

I'm OK at keeping secrets. Luckily I have a couple groups of friends who have nothing to do with each other. So if it's something really huge, I can tell someone who doesn't know the affected person.

I can keep secrets if asked. I really don't enjoy it.

Oh, I was so excited and curious that I forgot to answer the question. Yes, I am incredibly good at keeping secrets. I think it's in response to my mother, who has never kept a secret in her life. There's not an ounce of malice there, she's just not capable of keeping anything to herself.

I'm good at keeping secrets from everyone but my fiance! ;-)

I'm terrible at it! I always break down and tell one person and we can keep it just between us.

But if that one person told one person...well that could mean I'm part of the secret spreading doesn't it?

I would like to think I'm good at keeping secrets - but I usually let them loose, to just one person, on the STRICT understanding that they don't tell anyone else. :)

Oh my goodness, like the suspense of waiting to know if I won is not making me crazy enough!

If I win this book I PROMISE I won't tell anyone the secret! OK, maybe my husband but he does not really listen to me. He kinda goes screen saver and does chemistry equasions in his head, or something!

I've got to get in on this one!!

Mostl definitely. Especially if it is something of a vital importance. Except when giving presents. I always tell people what they are getting before I give them. LOL!!

I'm all for living dangerously! Sign me up.

As for keeping secrets: I can be as silent as the grave, but totally giving it away with the looks on my face (I keep thinking I have a great poker face, but family and friends have nixed that. So much for my career on the Poker Showdown circuit...).

Am I good at keeping secrets. In all honesty, no. Which is why I prefer people not tell me any.
