Going to the Dogs

We took the niece and nephew to see Hotel for Dogs this weekend. (Oh, to be under ten and have your whole body react to the sugar infusion of a few sips of root beer!) We had fun and they were very brave during the scary parts.

Me? Not so much.

WHAT is the deal with the plucky orphan theme in kid's entertainment??? (And don't even get me started about the sad death of that Golden Retriever at the pound...) THIS is why I my favorite movie is How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. Nobody dies. Is that too much to ask for?

You just further confirmed to me that I have NO desire to see that movie. Me, I took the kids to see Mall Cop. We are still laughing over "Peanut Blart and Jelly" (say it in an Indian accent)

I don't really see kid movies as much anymore and that one really wasn't appealing because the vast number of pooches. It's not that I don't like dogs; I am planning on getting a little fella in a couple months myself. BUt to be surrounded by dogs is not appealing on the big screen or in real life. However, I am with you on that "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days."

I don't do well with sad films. I STILL haven't seen Schindler's List because I'm not sure I can handle it.

I love how to lose a guy in 10 days. I employ the tricks when I'm bored on a date. I am a fairly horrible human being, but it's fun.

Why are there so many crappy kids movies? It IS possible to make an original one.

Unfortunately, like Stacy, I'm a total sucker for sad scenes. Even if I'm vocally criticising every aspect of a film, the part where they try to push my buttons and make me cry... well, it works!

Thanks for the warning. Considering that one of my sons (who - for sake of his 8 yr old pride - will remain nameless) cried over a Pokemon movie (and I'll admit, it was very sad), I will NOT take him to this one.

I will stick to 'Night At The Museum'. It made us all giggle.
