The Beleaguered Chef

I'm cooking. A casserole. It calls for a cup of Miracle Whip (don't judge!)
The fancy measuring gadget someone gave us as a gift is reversible--one end measures liquid, the other solid.

Is Miracle Whip a liquid or a solid?
Does it matter?
It doesn't look like it matters.

(This is why I'm not a foodie. I can't handle the technicalities of a 1970s casserole...)

I just laughed out loud! Nice work with the cooking. I can't seem to stop making plans with people to meet for supper or lunch! And it just doesn't make sense for me to cook for one person. It's more fun when it's FOR someone. Or is this just a common misconception of singledom?

I think Miracle Whip is one of those items in its own group. I hope your casserole turns out awesome.

I think it's a vegetable. This is like the time that I found out that avocados are classified as a fat.

I vote solid. I think it'll be easier to squirt it out rather than pour. (I'm guessing it's one of those Pampered Chef measuring doodads?)

I think Miracle Whip is a siquid or lolid. If I'm finding this funny, I obviously need more sleep!

No measuring cup for semi-solids? What if you need to ration yogurt?

I vote solid since my dad always measures it in the solid measuring cups, I do too. I'm pretty sure my grandmother does too when she cooks with Miracle Whip. Hope everything turned out well.

The important thing is that you try! I'm sure Steve loves you for it.

It's definitely a solid - if it retains its shape when you mound it up, you need to put it in a measuring cup where you can scrape it level with the top. (See the fun things one learns in home ec?)

Look at the jar, specifically the weight listed. Take that measurement and subtract the amount you need for your recipe.

No meal should include a cup of Miracle Whip. Ever.

Never ever.

Got it?
