I've spent the past half hour wondering if I can fit a completely unrelated chapter into my next book about how my dog makes me laugh. Why? Because then it would be my job to keep up with blogs like this.
(Here you see Miss Kylie--aka THAT DOG--up in Maine on vacation this summer. I'm not sure if it's the cocker spaniel or the afghan genes that make her such a vigilant watchdog ...)

OMG, she looks like a 4-year old child in that stance!
Thanks to that pug link, my kids are going to school with questionable grooming.
Worth every minute of laughing over pug bowling!
yesterday there was a cat by the front window which drives our dog crazy. to quell his ferocious yet harmless barking, i opened the inside door (there was a securely locked outside glass door) and knocked on it to startle the cat away. my dog was having none of my attempts to keep him back from the door and he took the shortest route to look out the front door as his barking ratched up. before i knew it he had wedged himself in between my legs and to anyone looking in they would have seen what looked like a grown woman sitting atop a 70lb wildly barking dog.
fun times...
Walter the pug is very cute.
I'm with you, Trish. Forever trying to figure out how to fit my pets and/or animals into my novels. I managed to get a Newfoundland dog into The Penny Tree and now the producers who're making the film asked if it can be another BREED of dog. Gasp! I'm so flexible I could be a bendy straw when it comes to what they'd like to do with the film, but NO NO NO I said, It must be a Newf!
Sadly, my editor nuked all of the dogs out of The Silver Compass, but I'm determined to bring them back to life in book 4. Go for it, I say. Fit 'em in, Trish. If they make you laugh, they'll make others giggle...
Hee! Our dog, Pedro, cracks us up. In fact, my husband has invented an entire movie series (in his mind) around him. Our favorite is how he basically pretends that he hasn't been fed, just to see if he can con one of us into feeding him again. Pathetic!
